Jason and Michael have just returned to New York after spending two weeks shooting screendance in Wisconsin. Both native sons were invited by the husband-wife team of Douglas Rosenberg and Li Chiao-Ping to shoot two distinct projects this January.

Douglas has been working with New York dance legend Sally Gross for the past year and a half, and their collaboration is recently taking the form of a screendance piece. The above video clip shows some behind-the-scenes footage from Sally’s performance at Madison’s historic Gates of Heaven synagogue located in James Madison Park. You can see production stills on The Notion Collective’s Flickr page.

After working with Douglas and Sally, Jason and Michael began production with Li Chiao-Ping (and company of dancers) on a screendance adaptation of her evening-length show “Pagoda.” Chiao-Ping expects the production to take shape throughout the coming year–during each of Wisconsin’s seasons. so we expect to share more of this exciting project in the future.
